Question regarding light schedules.

So here is my deal, I have a female vortex in 12/12 flowering right now. If I throw my auto flowering seeds in there with her on 12/12, can I change my lights back to 18/6 when the vortex is done? I know the 12/12 will make them not yield as much I understand that. I really just wanna know if lengthening the light in the middle of their flower is going to throw them off and make them hermie or if they will be ok anyway since they are autos. This will be my last fem reg for a while and I want to get the new autos going now and will keep it on 18/6 after the vortex is done.

Genetic predisposition to flower may or may not affect you light change. Since SOME autos seem to need a nudge to get them to flower it's no sure thing.

IF some need a nudge to get them to flower then I would take it that you mean they need some 12/12 before they are put into a longer light schedule? If I am correct in this assumption then that must also mean that it is ok to go from 12/12 to a longer light cycle such as 18/6?

i wouldnt recommend it what you should of done is put the auto's in first then when there around 3 weeks from harvest put your photo's in so when you harvest your auto's your photo's have had a good veg and you have something to smoke

Not necessarily, Nirvana Seeds quit selling almost all of their autoflowers a couple years ago because the plants weren't blooming like they should. Other breeders have had similar problems. The genetics have a tendency to weaken after too many generations and new stock must be generated.

There is a problem with this, probably. I don't know about you but when I start flowering my plants I switch to a red spectrum bulb and drop my light hours to 12/12. I do this with all my plants. If you take a normal, non-auto plant and put it in those circumstances you could generate a bunch of problems.

I have 2 autos going now on a one month rotation. After these two finish, I'll have to put my blue biased grow lights back in and reset my timers because I'll be going to be growing non-autos.

Foolwinkle60, yer off base and spouting crap. I said that it was A COUPLE YEARS AGO they had this problem. Since then they have been in the process of rebuilding their line of autos. Don't believe me? Check the facts with Nirvana.
