Question re aeroponic propagators

Just a thought as I'm new to the cuttings scene(not sure if this is a dumb question or not.)
Can I use a basic aeroponic propagator and put soil/rockwool/jiffy plugs inside them and once the roots have grown through put them in soil pots?
Or can I only use the mesh pots and then go into a hydro system?

if useing clay pellets use mesh pots or rockwol i would not use peat pellets do to the mess i think it will make in the systems, other then that it will work . think of what would be better for helpiing to stablely your plants root and plant wile it is growing
