Question on Soil and Lights?

I am starting new seeds this time trying to do it a bit different. I need to know whats the most recommended soil to buy? Happy frog has been a name that came up alot. Also will the T5 lights work in a regular fluorsecent fixture or not? I have 7 white widows growing now under 4 fluorescents now. I am awaiting till flowering time to switch to HPS (still need to buy it). I would like to grow these plants in all soil as I have 4 of my current plants in rockwool. Which are growing way better than the 3 in soil, just want to go with all soil this time. I also would like a good recommended site to get good seeds, BDS was a good site but their prices are quite high. Nirvana shop has good reviews and cheaper seeds. Anyone with good advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A lil advice on picking your soil.. Don't just look at the reviews, also go to the plant problem section and see how many people are having problems using that brand.
No the T5 bulbs will not work in reg fixtures....different ballasts.
Minstry of Cannabis is an excellent seed bank in amsterdam. They have excellent genetics, good prices, and ship discreetly.

One question, why would you decide to go all soil instead of rock wool? When you said "I have 4 of my current plants in rockwool. Which are growing way better than the 3 in soil". Happy frog is good but Foxfarms Ocean Forrest most people use. I myself use rock wool indoors and soil I mix myself for outdoors. But when I make teens for soil growers I prefer Botanicare's ReadyGro™ Moisture it has no fertilizer so I can give a low dosage of ferts in the begining. and as for T5 in fluorescent no you need a T5 fixture.

I understand that the rockwool cubes have seemed to work better just wanted to get a good set grown in soil. Just for my curiosity, I may just do half and half again. Ok so what would be the best solution for lights without paying alot? I used the fluorescent's because they were easy to get and cheap. I am trying my best to get the HPS which I plan on getting soon but what would be the best way to go? I am going to be flowering in 4-5 weeks so the HPS would be ideal for them, if anything should I just keep the 4 flurosents and use them again on the new seeds? If so is there a way to get better bulbs for them i forgot which bulbs i bought and are using now. The plants now seem to be growing at a slow rate just under 10" and are taking a long time to get big.

It's really all personal preference and room restricted as to your lights. Run the best for your grow room at what you can afford and then make the most out of it. There's pros and cons to every 1 of them..
These were t5 from start to finish

Depends on how you like to grow. I like soil because I make my own mix. My nutes are in the compost I use in the soil and I top dress every 3-4 weeks with a granular organic fertilizer. This means that all I need to do every watering is make sure my pH is in a good range. Its working out great so far.

Wow impressive grow my friend. Def. going to just try to get things rolling as best as I can. Still curious on why the plants are slow growers, lights are low enough, temp is good, not over/under watered, 18-6 for time on daylight. Any ideas of what may cause these slow growers? Paintence is a virtue i guess which im running low on.

The main purpose of light is photosynthesis, which the plant uses to convert over to energy.. That's why lights are so important.. It doesnt matter how much nutes you give them if they don't have the energy to convert it over to food.
If you were to take a plant, have it under a reg flouro,,, then put an hid whether its a t5,mh, or hps. The results will be the same... It will look like you literaly gave the plant steroids so to speak and the only thing you changed is the light

Are you indoors or out? If you gonna grow indoors rock wool or coco outdoors composted soil mix with compost, soil, perilite, lime, blood meal, bone meal, worm castings and mulch. Then water with a tea compost tea that is.

Im growing indoors, i def. want to try to coco or the ocean farm. I have the 6"x6" cubes will i have to upgrade the cubes or can they mature all the way through with the size I have now?

make your own soil. peat, perlite, poop..........or whatever floats yer boat. my sig has a recipe in it. check it out. making your own mix is cheap. and you'll know what's in it.

I use 4" on top of 6" rock wool cubes. What I do first is place the the clones in the 4" and wait until I see roots go thru the bottom, then I place on 6".

You can also use 3" cubes on top as well. I'm using them now and to your quest about if they can mature all the way through? Yes

Cool, wow those stalks are crazy big man, shits still moving slow for me as far as their growth im just continuing to read and look for good advice. I added some more flos yesterday with 6500k so hopefully those lights shine good and get the plants getting bigger. As far as the cubes im guessing it will remain the same throughout as your plants look fully grown as mine are still youngsters.
