Ok Im done messing with heat in my grow room and think a portable a/c may be my answer. I found a good deal on one. If I have my grow room in a large closet and set up the exhaust to blow out under the door, will that work? How hot is the air coming out?

Whoa whoa, all portable AC Units need an outside exhaust as they produce huge amounts of heat as they cool. The heat exhausting out of 7,000 or higher BTU Air units would be about 80-90 degrees at about 200-250cfm's. You couldn't exhaust that back in your home, it would be a phonomenal waste of cooling if it cooled at all. Dual hose portable AC Units are designed to re-circulate inside air (good for CO2 enrichment and saturation) and a single hose portable AC Units are designed to re-use inside air, but suck the hot air out. Either one will need an outside ventilation source, and neither one should be ventilating in the attic for a long period of time due to the moist/humid air being exhausted in your attic promotes mold growth.

I did this with my first grow room in another house, but I had a chamber built keeping the direct cold air from blowing on the plant. The exhaust from the unit can get warm. Just put it in it your window and keep your room cool. Good luck bro!
