Question on intake and exhaust fans?!

I'm a newbie to growing, Anyway I've ordered a grow tent recently and I'm hearing a lot a about Intake and exhaust fans is a intake fan and a exhaust fan the same fan that comes with the tent it just depends on how you use it?

Like the exhaust pulling air through the carbon filter and out off the tent?

Then the Intake fan just simply blowing air into your grow tent? Just depending how you use it and don't use the carbon filter?

So im going to have a intake/exhaust fan pulling air out off my grow tent attached to my carbon filter, Then I'm going to buy a little intake/exhaust fan and tighten the cords around the fan on one off the port holes near the bottom off the tent.

The tent I'm buying comes with a 5" fan and a rhino carbon filter.

Please explain this more clearer to me please folks, When the tents comes I want to get this right, I'm currently going to be harvesting my first plants in around 2 weeks, Then as soon as they are dried I'm going to get started on my second.

Yes same thing but intake is generally rated at a lower cfm to generate at least some negative pressure as smell can escape otherwise.

Use your exhaust to remove heat from the light but control temperature by regulating the temp of the room the tent is in.
:-)

You may not need two if you can provide enough passive intake, my shed is passive and works quite well, and keeps it slightly negative. If your tent collapses when you turn on your fan then yes you need two ;).

Try to avoid an intake fan, just focus on exhaust

So just use the exhaust/intake fan for my carbon filter? Is it to my understanding that I should leave one off the vents open on the bottom for air to get in? It all seems rather to confusing for a new grower who's just bought his brand new tent and kit lol

I thought it was the same thing just some sites I have been on where I read about growing and whatever, One mentions intake then the other will mention exhaust so I was a little confused to say the least in Will just concentrate on the exhaust and the carbon filter for the smell.
