Question on drip..

Hey .. debating question between a buddy and me. in a rockwool hydroton setup.. with a drip system as a start up. he says running a constant flow of water (i am talking easily 10x a drip plug output), basically no plug... "gives more air to the plants"... I think that will drown the plants and that doing a cycle of like 3 minutes every 2 hours would be a better set up. Am i right?

IN a real DRIP system, which is actually a FLOW of water, you have to put it on a timer, or it will DROWN.

I drip my mums 4 times a day for 5 minutes. they were started in rockwool and then planted in hydroton. They seem to be healthy and growing well. I started at 5 times a day for five minutes but they started looking overwatered and the leaves looked heave. Then I went to 3 times a day for 5 minutes but they seemed starved for water. I think I got it now with 4 times a day for 5 minutes.....

I have dripped one drip table non stop 24/7 and another table 15 minutes on/45 minutes off/24/7, side by side, and both of them kicked ass. Averaged 6 oz per plant and one plant produced just over a half pound. Drip kicks ass any way you do it.

This time around Im using an ebb and flow system and it seems to kick the same ass that drip did, two weeks into flowering. Hydroponics in general kicks ass!.
