Question on alternative lighting

I have been reading multiple forums and have not run into anyone using these lights, can someone explain why? I'm starting my first growth using 4x CFL's and have no intention of using anything else, at this time. But I saw one of these lights laying around in the garage and wondered why they are not used growing MJ

well, basically because they suck in every way imaginable. they give off too much heat compared to other lights. they give off less light compared to other lights. they give off a less useful spectrum of light compared to other lights.
