Question of the Day....????

I started germinating 11 White Widow seeds about a week and half ago in a cup of water on a heating pad. One cracked after sinking to the bottom and I put it and the rest of the seeds in pots of soil under a 300watt cfl. Nothing happened after watering them a few times daily. So yesterday I dug them up only to find that they were still in the state that I planted them in. I then put them back in a cup of water and this morning I noticed that 3 more cracked open. How is this possible after having them planted in soil for days? And can anyone tell me whats the longest it would take seeds sprout a tap root?

ive been having problems germin my beaners also. i have been growing for about a year now n never had these probs b4.
i had them germin in pt with a heating pad, nothing happened. i tried the shot glass method, some cracked but never grew when i put them in the soil. i should've waited longer but got impatient for them to sprout.
now i put some bagseed in my humidity dome without pre soakin them first. its been bout 2 daze n nothing yet.

i guess patience is the key here. i know something has to give this round.
goodluck with ur's..

i would say give them 2 weeks and get some sort of clear plastic bin big enough for your plants and when you see quarter inch tap roots THAN put them in there with a little dish of water and put it under the lights this will create humidity and they should pop in like 3 days after that maby less

It could take a couple weeks to sprout. Generally older seeds take longer.
Ok thats whats up I think the heat pad might've scorched a few of them because 7 of the seeds look black still life is surprizing me now that they are all soaking in water but I'll leave em in water and see what happens.

I think the best thing you could do, is simply plant your seeds (one seed per cup) in plastic dixie style cups. Just fill up the plastic cup with good, moist soil and wait til they pop out and re-pot them after 2 or 3 weeks. Never fails.

what temp is your heating pad generally people don't use those if they are going to soak first i think its more for humidity domes or paper towel on plate type things and cloning

I put mine in a cup that has sandpaper in the bottom....give em a good shake to ruff em up...this allows the bean to absorb moisture better........then i put them in a cup full of ph 6.0 water and i put them in my humidity dome ontop of my seeding heat mat..once they absorb enough water you should be able to tap on the seed and it will sink to the bottom....once i see that the bean has poped i put the beans into the juffy pucks and into the little jiffy puck dome....and put that dome on the heat mat.........just did this method with seedism blz bud on saturday and they are in the jiffy pucks now an all four have sprouted and are an inch tall(the tallest on trying to open its leaves)...........works for me everytime.....never had a problem

Aww man damn well this is one expensive lesson if no other seeds crack. I really want my Widows to grow I'm not sure of the pad temp but its for reptile tanks. It sticks to the bottom of the tank gets pretty hot that why put a folded sock diown first then put cup on top of it.

never lost a seed since this method....and its what i learned from jorge cervantes out of the bible......i dont fuck with bag seed... my seeds are paid for so anything that i do for my beaners i feel is more helpful than harmful....especially when the advice is from a pro....more pro than you.....so while youre drkn from the soil ill be smokin my dank ass buds...and a jerk...its hurts
