I have a light question for the pros. I have read all of the post from you guys and I am just a novice.. I want to use a combo of light. Currently I am using a Blue Max Full Spectrum 6 bulb T5. A very nice light, but I would like to add a 400w HPS grow light for flowering.

Below are the specs for my FloroUltraLux SPECIFICATIONS
6-Lamp
High Bay
280w
Watts - Electrical Usage
5900K Kelvin Temp.
93+ C.R.I.
35,000 Average Lamp Hours
2 Fixture S/P Factor
28,500 Fixture Lumen - Photopic
57,000 Fixture Lumens - Scotopic
200 Visual Acuity Lumens Per Watt

light that I am using for veg and flowering.

Question: Will it be useful for me to add the 400w HPS light in conjunction with the following Full Spectrum light mix? How many plants do you think I can get under both lights when used at the same time?

Thanx..

The light you are currently using I had to do some research on. I had never heard of the terms Photopic and Stotopic.

Photopic is how much light your eyes detect during daylight.

Stotopic is how much light your eyes detect during night.

That is why the lumens is higher for Stotopic.

However this does not reveal the actual lumen out for the bulbs. I searched and could not find.

This does not mean that it is not a good light for growing. It does produce the right spectrum for vegetative growth.

I do not think it would bea good light for flowering though. So utilizing a 400 watt HPS for flowering would be great.

I would suggest not more that 6 plants for what you have.

Try out your fixture for vegging and should be ok

Hope the advice helps
