A new clinic Just opened up in my area(Southern Oregon) that specializes in Medical canna, Just like the ones in cali. Iv wanted my card for about 4 years but have not been able to find any kind of clinics like the ones that were in Sanfran back home. Now my question is, will my condition qualify me for a card and that condition being insomnia, big time. If any one has experience with obtaining there Oregon medical card, please speak up and give me some feed back. Thanks!

Hi! I think you might be asking about Southern Oregon NORML in Medford? At least, we are the only new clinic in the area that I am aware of ;)

Unfortunately, insomnia is not a qualifying condition in Oregon. The qualifying conditions for a card in Oregon can be found on the physician recommendation form on the State of Oregon website -

http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/ommp/aps.pdf

Remember - when you contact a clinic to get a recommendation signed, you have to have recent medical records that support your qualifying condition. The records must be less than three years old, and must be signed off by an MD or a DO. (Not just a nurse-practitioner, PA or other staff member). You will have to fax in two or three visits worth of records (not every visit for the past three years!) and receive an appointment time if the records contain sufficient evidence of the qualifying condition for the doctor to sign the recommendation form.

There are other requirements, retaining all copies, certified mail receipts and fees. If you would like to stop in at SONORML, we would be happy to sit down and walk you through the entire process. Assisting people with OMMP (Oregon Medical Marijuana Program) registration is one reason that we are there - along with activism to promote legalization, patient to patient networking, etc. We are at 332 W. 6th St. in Medford, and open 10-7 Mon through Sat. Give us a call at 541 779-1448. We will be more than happy to answer all your questions.
