hey everyone I just have a simple closet grow im about to start and new to all of this now im just wondering if I need the fan on 24 hours a day simple question right lol thanks in advance
Well, the fan is used for 2 important facts. One to help air-flow and venting and the other is to recreate the winds that blow across the earth every day. It is best to just leave the fans on 24/7 and leave some fans blowing directly on the plants. This will help develop a stronger root growth.
When plants are small you don't need a fan. They don't use much co2.
Once they are 8 to 10" you want a fan to recirculate the air in there, that's about it.
I don't recommend using a fan to make stalks stronger if that"s what your thinking. I know people say it works but I don't see the advantage. More people kill there plants by trying it then strengthen the stalks.
Recirculate the air = exchange the air, not move it around in there.
You may want to do that later once they are about a foot tall and using up all available co2. The reason for the fan is co2 is heaver then air and you want to blow it up to the top of the canopy again.
