Question About Making Seeds PLEASE HELP

I just bought 2 packs (20 seeds) of Early Wonder Skunk (autoflower) and I want to make these my seed crop, so I'm gonna grow all the females and kill the smallest and slowest females, also I'm gonna kill all the males EXCEPT the 2 biggest ones. Now here's my questions:

1) what are the drawbacks of this, for example will I have unpredictable plants? hermies? small buds? slow growth? etc?

2) How many seeds can I expect from each plant? approx. 3FT tall plants?

Thank you.

here is what i would recommend, males u only need 1, so dnt bother keeping 2, no point in killing ur smaller females, i would use those for breeding and keep ur big girls to smoke, so take the small girls, ur best male and keep them secluded away from the big girls, as not to pollenate ur smoking plants, and dnt wrry 2 fully pollenated females even small females will give u more than enough seeds, again keep the females u arent going to pollinate far far away from the males

hay man,

This is how i do things, i put aside 3 males far away from my girls, i then grow those 3 males, and keep the one that grows there quickest and looks the strongest, i let my girls grow up alil and i will return to my male with a paper bag and i will put the paper bag over a couple of branches and give them a little shake so the pollen falls from the plant and into the paper bag, i then take that bag abck to my girls and as before i will keep my eye out from the best of the grow, i then find a brunch real close to the bottom of the plant and put the paper bag over the one or maybe two branches you choose, give the branch alittle shake so the pollen in the bag collects on the branch, i do this so only one or two branches go to seed and stead of your whole plant being seedy, that way your best plant is still heaps smokable without all the seeds, i hope this will be of some use to you man

How far along in flowering should the female be before you pollinate her? Thanks for the idea MoE! +Rep

A plant is ready to pollinate 2 weeks after the clusters of female flowers first appear. If you pollinate too early, it may not work. Wait until the female flowers are well established, but still all while hairs are showing.
One pollinated branch can create hundreds of seeds, so it should not be necessary to pollinate more than one or two branches.

Also with the paper bag, once you take pollen from the male its best to pollinate the female while its still fresh, and dont stress if you look in the paper bag after shaking the male branch and it looks like nothing is there, i can assure you there will be plenty of pollen that the naked eye cant see.

i didnt know if it would work the first time i tryed it, i shook the male branch for ages and ages and id look in the paper bag and see nothing at all, but i carefuly took the paper bag to the female and put the bag over her lowest branch and gave it a gentle shake, took it off, and just left her to do her thing and about 2 weeks later i started to notice signs of little seeds started the form only on the branches i pollinated and ever since then i have used this method, but now i have learned that u dont have to stand there for ages shaking a branch a few shakes should do it, you only need enough for a banch or two after all.

If you are looking to make more seeds, then take the plants expressing the phenotypes that fits your needs and cross them. Repeat 3-4 times and you will end up with a stable strain. hth

Thanks alot MoE. I grow bag seed. I finally got a strong Indica. I have a really short growing season and I want to grow this one again next year. Your info was really helpfull! I have a nice male with strong Indica traits. Im going to pollinate today so I can pull the male.
