question about flowering differences between indeca and sativa

Hi been around here reading up on all the info the site has to offer. I'm sure its been asked before and properly answered but I havnt been able to find it. I'm currently growing two different strains of bagseed headies. Both plants are clearly hybrids. Both the plants were placed into 12/12 may 2nd (week and a day ago). The more indeca dominate plant has already showed her true colors or being a beautiful girl. The other plant on the other hand hasn't shown its sex yet. It gets the exact same lights/nutes etc.this plant is more sativa than it is an Indeca. I was just wondering generally how much longer does a sativa. Take to show sex compaired to an indeca?

I don't know too much and I am pretty new at this but I imagine it varies since there are soooo many different strains out there.

Some sativas can take awhile before they show sex and start flowering. Could take 2-3 weeks on the long side. But they really take longer with the flowering. Most indica's are done in 8-10 weeks where sativas are usually done in 10-16 weeks. 16 weeks being like pure sativa.

Also note that males tend to take longer to show sex.

Don't worry man I had the same exact issue. I had 2 bagseed plants one showed sex at 2 weeks on the day and is now showing tons of pistils but the other one just showed sex today.... 24 days after flipping to 12/12. I don't know if this was a coincidence but the day that both these plants showed, was the day after I gave them a healthy dose of flowering nutes. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the replys any other input is appreciated, I kind of thought the males would show first so they could be ready to rape my girls :/

were your girls from the same bud?

Wow nice marc, I'm not expecting any results like that. Its my first ever attempt at growing on my own and only using cfls. Kind of want to finish this grow up and then decide if gardening is for me or not before I go spend the big bucks for MH HPS setups. Once my babies grow a little longer ill post a few pictures up.

I have two plants left myself. One that is more Indica dominate and on the 3rd day of 12/12 it showed it sex. Two other plants Sativa dominate showed their damn balls at the 5 day mark. I am at 7 days now and that damn Sativa is the only one that hasn't shown, but at least the males did so I have a feeling if it is taking this long it's because it is a girl. I hope so anyways. Good luck with the waiting game as it is driving me crazy. First timmer but fast learner and things look so damn good in my cabinet. I wanna sleep in there lol.
