question about ataching a carbon filter during veg

ok first to give you an idea of whats going on over here, i have one 600w aircooled lamp with about 1' 6" of ducting leading to a 6" in-line fan that is pulling the hot air from my lamp, which then flows through about 8" more of ducting, out of the room into the attic. oh yeah it's a passive intake.

my questions about the filter are: 1.What side do i attach it to (suck thru the filter or push out)? 2.Can i attach it to the "intake" of my light (rely on the 6" in-line to pull thru the filter into the hood, out the ducting, thru the fan, out of the room and still cool my light like this)? 3.Should i leave the lamp and attach another 6" outtake with the filter?

all of your comments are gratefully appreciated, much love

Its all going to depend on the power of your fan. If your fan has enough power and can handle the increase in pressure due to a filter being added then that would be great and I would put the filter on the light and suck through it (This is how they are designed to work)

If your fan is not powerful enough then I would get one that is and install it as you have described "in-line to pull thru the filter into the hood, out the ducting, through the fan, out of the room" and then I would install the old fan as a intake (passive intake is only any good for small areas) If I was to hazard a guess then I would say your current fan is likely to be fine as long as you grow area isn't to big.
