Question about artificial light....

My big question now is light. I live in a small studio and their are two big windows in it going to the outside. I get a lot of sunlight from those windows everyday and plenty of venting just by opening them up. Since I'm on the top floor of the building I can pretty much eliminate odors just by keeping the windows open. Do any of you still think I would need artificial lighting for my plants since I do get so much sunlight?

well, without actually seeing what your talking about.

I would have so say.. go with whatever you think. I personally don't usually put my girls in front of any windows for the simple fact that I don't want anyone knowing what I'm doing. But, if your on the very top floor.. you should be alright. I guess..

I use HPS lighting.. and CFL lighting for side lights.

See, during veg cycle.. your plants need at least 18 hours of light.. and 6 hours of darkness (complete darkness without light leaks). You won't be able to get 18 hours of sunlight.. so... yeah I would at least add some CFL lights.. at least!!

Yeah, that's what I thought. I will probably get some lights for the evenings. I am not worried really about anyone finding out about what I grow to be honest. I live in a city where possession is considered the lowest enforceable violation and in a building where pot smell can be detected walking the halls in at least three apartments on every floor. I think the landlord may even smoke a bit. I am not stupid, I will take serious precautions but I just don't see the consequences as being life killing if I were to get caught.
