putting clones in straight water

I put my clones in straight water with nothing else but water and part of my mixed fertilizer. I did this because it was bushy and blocking light from my other plants. Well my question is will they grow roots? It's been like this for a week or a little longer and the buds are still growing. it didn't show any signs of stress neither. I know alot of people say that this is a shitty way to take clones but it was a test and is working fine. i just need to know if it will root soon

well i've heard you can stick cuttings in straight water and they will show sex within 1 week without growing roots, but i'm sure some roots will grow eventually.

yes it will root after awhile. but a good thing to do is to make sure their is no light penetrating where the roots will form. that should help

if the clone looks healthy after a few days then it will most likely root mine always have after like a week and a half but i use dipngrow, good luck

alright i'll cover it up. cause it's in a clear glass. but you guys think i should leave my fert water or just straight water. the fert water is working good. i took the cuttings like 2 weeks into flowering and the buds are growing a little bit. It's still on the 12/12. And say if they do root should i leave it under the same lighting scheldue? Should I throw them in soil as soon as i see roots or let them grow a little bit? And how much water should i leave at the bottom of the glass? half inch, inch?

Take them out of fret, move them out of 12/12 and u dont went your cuttings to keep growing if u want roots.. pH your water to 6.0-6.2.. I would move them into jiffy 7 if u ask me and place them under a dome.....

yes...move them out of bud if u want roots...id change water daily or wheneve u feel itz stagnant..itll take mad time to root in that fashion..if u could divise away to gett a fish tanks air pump , and a clear air line to the cup o water, to create oxygen bubbles u'd be way better off...although i swear i notice, if i take clones and go directly in2 diy bubbler they wilt a bit, where to prevent this i simply place fresh cutting in a cup of water for 24 hours and then into bubbler no wilt at all

for cloning use 18/6 or 24 hr light and you should get an air pump and bubble the roots. with this method people seem to be getting roots within 5-8 days. suspend the cutting in the bubbling water with a 1/4 strength flowering nutrient mix for most effective root development.

ive gotten roots with submerged cutting too..as long as they got air pumpin in the solution..never balanced the ph or heated the tank..althou i do use a rooting gel...

although hes right when elevated out of the rez and jsut misted it provides them with a dry time which will speed up rooting..jsut sayn if ur lazy and a few cutting are partially submerged theyll fair well too..

Ooo if u are using straight water, get a mix of willow water, it has a nature IBA in it, but U have to get the right willow for it to work.. I dont know the name, just were it is and how to use it.. I have used it several times.. IT works better in soil than in areaponics becuse leaving it to long will def produce unwater mold!! Some willows will cary mold spores from their area to your grow room. Be carefull.

so i woke up this morning and one root was about a quarter of an inch out on one of the cuttings. i can see where a couple more are about to pop out should i plant them yet or just keep letting the grow roots?
