Hey Guys,
How's it going? I've built a pretty much automated grow room as it's a couple of hours drive from my house in a remote location. I've automated all processes and visit every 2 weeks to top up / change the nutrient solution. I remotely monitor everything via cameras, etc.
I'm just about to sprout 8 x northern light seeds, which I will do under CFL. However due to laws here, etc, I need to move them to the main room asap. They will go in to a flood and drain system in 1" rockwool cubes.
In my tent I have two lovely new HLG550v2 and want to get them under those asap. I know it's a waste of electric to do this and CFL's are best, however it's about practicality.
The question is, if the LED's are at the top of the tent, i.e. about 1.8m from the seedlings, would this be OK? i.e. am I going to burn them or hurt them at this distance? At this distance can I keep them on full, or should or dim them? Or is it better to both lower the lights closer to the seedlings and also dim them?
I do have a PAR meter, is there a safe PAR I could use for seedlings?
I just don't want to fry them, but also want to use the optimum light from day 1 to get the most from the crop.
Thanks,
J.
