purple stem, stunted growth, dry leafs...

I have checked the growFAQ and it seems to me it would be root stunting. the other plant I pulled its roots couldnt grow straight down so it made an L shape and then went down... it was doing the same thing as this.

the soil could have been slightly packed, I also read this is caused by acidic soil and that the wood chips like I have in my soil are slightly acidic.

the plant seems to have stopped growing in height too... but I do keep the lights close so that could be a reason for that.

still the discolored stems, I cant figure out why, but they seem to get lighter after every water, they were very very dark when it first appeared, theyve definitly lighted up.

the leafs look very dry too, they arent crispy or anything... but I think this is a combination of lack of water and low humidity. the leafs look almost like theres crystals on them...

can anyone give me adivice? i cant ph test, humidity test, or get a temperature of the room or anything.

if that is miracle grow organic I suggest changing your soil as I have had bad experiences similar to yours in that soil in the past. (atleast my ladies did) I believe due to the mulchy nature of the mix. The drainage is quite bad and I suggest either mixing your own as I did or asking a nursery for a professional seeding/propogation mix. After I switched the plants did great.

A good alternative to the chemicals miracle gro insists on are bat guano (N), fish emulsion (N), bone meal (P), and blood meal (N), Epsom Salt (Mg), and worm castings are quite remarkable in effects on overall growth in their own ....

I had the same problem also, growth stunt, leaves drooped down and leaves felt dry. I am also a newbie, but when I raised my light (400 watt hps) about 4-6 inches and changed the water out of my resevoir from my aeroponic setup a couple days later it started back growing and producing more leaves and the leaves got darker and crystals formed on the leaves

miracle grow compacts like a sum bitch, go buy some perlite to mix with your soil (20% or 1/5) any higher and youll find yourself needing to water often, this will allow better drainage.

I used the miracle grow all natural stuff. Added peralite about 1:5, PH test all liquids that you add to your plants, you must know and keep the temps below 85 degrees, my humidity 50%, fan blowing on plants all the time, when you add nutes start at 1/4 recommended strength and slowly work up to full strength. I alternate with plain water every 3 waterings or so. When you mix up your nutes mix up warm water. Hot or cold can shock your plants.

Unless noted by the breeder...stems, viens, nor leaf shouold ever turn purple. Nor be very dark in color. This would Indicate a def. 99% of the time. Some jus worse than others. Ruderila are the only kind that would show these characters. A few posts back someone stated that when they water the purple goes away........this should be sending red flags up in your head. If u get a purple strain then yes, it swould be purple...other then that purple is not a color i like seeing in the garden. its the small signs like these u watch far to keep other def. from devloping. Im not a scientist, ive just seen the trends of the plants that grow. Stems get purple, older growth curls up and turns gey, brown. newr groth turns purplish and deformed leaves occur. it all just begins to compile..def sets in with triggers another. You jus have to work the bugs out and keeep on growin. Moniter your pH and ppm/ec reg. if u do not already. then of course note how she grows. Ive heard it so many times that they lit tell u wu they need and now i myself am beginin to understand. anyway i talk way too much. just wanted to pass along some infobongsmilie
