This is super easy to do. All you need is a timer, a Rubbermaid style reservoir, a submersible pump, an irrigation manifold unit, some tubing, and some drip emitters...and some other things like teflon tape, stakes, etc. Basically, you'll have the reservoir filled with water/nutrients with a pump feeding the irrigation distribution manifold which sends a small tube to each pot with an emitter on the end of each tube. Depending on the size of your plants and the amount of water they need, you simply adjust the timer for the length and number of feedings they need per day.

Everything to build a simple system like this can be found at Home Depot/Lowes/OSH/Ace Hardware, etc. and it can be done fairly cheaply. The most expensive item will be the pump.

Depends on your plants and set up, but I used a long transmition funnel. reached the back plants fine, or dove through the top.

a cheap water pump will work too. don't get a big one, will pump to fast

Im trying to figure out a solution to the same problem. Im currently using a 2 Gal. watering can that is working OK now(other than the fact its a little messy), but its gonna become more difficult as my plants fill out and it gets more crowded. I bought a 35 gallon barrel and installed a faucet at the bottom and raised it about 12 inches hoping that I could mix my nutes in bulk and there would be enough pressure from gravity that I could hook up a hose and a 30" watering wand .It flows nicely from the faucet but once I added the hose and wand it just trickled. Its not a complete wash because its still easier to fill the barrel with a hose and fill my 2 gallon buckets from the barrel rather than carting 2 gallons at a time from the garage sink.
So now kinda at square one.
Im thinking either keep using the watering can method but find one that has a longer spout (the longer the better, I have a long reach to my back plants)and doesnt keep dripping all over the place when i tilt it up. I think I found one from Haws that has a pretty long spout plus you can get a six inch extension for it. Plus the spout faces up which seems like it would make it dripless.
Or I could set-up a pump and drip system. My problem with that is that I plan on spreading my plants out a little later on down the line and if I set the drippers up where my pots are now, they wont be in the right spot when I move them(the pots).

So my question I guess is. Is there any way to hook up a garden hose and wand to a pump inside my barrel?

If there is I think that might also be a good solution for you also Amrita.
