does pulling fan leaves off after week 5 (after the stretch)help with more light penetration thus filling up the lower branches with more weight? or does it do more harm than good? thanks for any comments.

That seems to be a touchy subject around here. Everyone has a different opinion. You could LST if you don't want to prune.

hmm...some say pulling the fan leaves off a few days before harvest helps to get more light to the buds...

But id say leave them on for good.

The fan leaves are your biggest "factories" of Photosynthesis and light intake.

Pulling them off earlier than a few days before harvest could have negative effects.

Leave em on...Let nature do her thing.

you only pull em if their completely yellow or if their at the bottom 1/3 of your plant but dont get carried away and stay away from the top fan leaves..just the bottom 1/3 of your plant

if they dont come off with a gentle tug let them be, and dont ever remove healthy ones, they make energy for the plant to grow, they dont take energy from the plant. More leaves=more photosynthesis=More Energy to put into the flower clusters
