Proper intake design

I just finished the majority of my room moments ago. I'll just start from the top. I had a room in the basement approx. 12' long by 6' wide 7' tall. The room had a minor leakage problem on the floor so I built a subfloor and panda filmed and sealed an 8' x 6' section. Basically I have a clean room now. I finished the ducting this morning but I need an intake. I'm using a 450 cfm 6" fan. I need to make a light proof intake so I don't stress the plants. Anyone have a good idea here? Currently the fan is strong enough to start pulling the walls down and the floor will lift a 6 gallon bucket up and tip it over if I close the door. Obviously I need some sort of intake to combat the extreme negative pressure.

My thoughts now are to take a cardboard box cut a 6" hole in both sides and then put a series of baffles in it to block the light. I figured I would stop here and see if anyone has some bright ideas. I I would like to keep this intake passive to cut down on noise and keep the power bill low
