Problem

Took on a project recently. I've taught myself hydroponics in like 4-5 days. The plants that I have (3) had a couple very LARGE problems with them in the beginning. They started out in an attic being well taken care of in the same set up just a smaller room. Well, it got really hot really fast. The plants stayed alive and looked a little healthy, but I just gained possesion of them and they are now in a climate controlled more readily maintained position.

Problem I'm having is tell tale signs of over hydration, nitrogen deficiency and zinc toxicity. The plants have had their daily cycles switched in the middle so I know that was a huge shock. But they are still alive, and unfortunately I think they are stuck in a vegetative state. They are on a 12hr photo cycle that recently switched around and they aren't blooming. We have all the signals of preflower(haha they've been growing since end of march.... ya they are troopers though) We don't want to lose this set of plants but already have the a plan to go through a 3 plant FILO harvest cycle every 2-3 weeks depending on our cloning ability.

Now here's my problem, since they are on a 12 hr photo cycle anyways, and they are only showing signs of preflowering(we've weeded out one male plant out of the 4 we wanted to start with) what can I do to urge them into a full flowering stage. I can't get a clear photo due to my crappy digital camera, but no pistils are coming out and all bud sites look like preflowers that look look like they are starting but they keep blooming into other leaves/stalks. What can I do to start them. The tops look like they have really started, but I can't determine whether or not they are just stretching further.

my set up

3'6x 3'6 pot
3 small plants, 2 of which have been pinched to conform to space limitations this grow.
12 hr phot cycle w/ a ufo and 2 hid's.
3 times a day watered for 8 min cycles in an ebb and flow system
15 gal resevoir
ph sits between 5.8 and 6.0
ppm sits around 1200(I'm going to work this lower, the previous caretaker never leached and caused a lot of problems)
and will drop around 10-15 each watering.
temp is around 78-80 degrees w/ negative air pressure,
humidity stands at 68/70(I'm having a hard enough time working on this bitch, but once i get the clones started w/ their 80-90% humidity... I have no idea what I'm going to do.)

I'm going to start leaching them every 2-3 days but I'm thinking rather then running the water to waste, I'm going to leach them with a quart of water directly into the plant that will just go the same route back down to the reservoir. Then, once a week, I will fully leach them with 1.5 gallons to alleviate any toxicity build-ups that the smaller leaches left in the plant, all of which will go into waste.

Thanks I'm a total noob, but I've read a ton.

Flush them well and hit them with some good P nutes. A little superthrive never hurt either. As for the clones, put them under a clear drinking cup or glass to keep the humidity up without having to fight against the current atmosphere.
