on http://www.greendragonsoda.com/ under cupboard method, i did what it said (add heated weed to lemon extract and put it in a cupboard) but it's been about a week and i just checked on it and there's mold floating on top. why is it moldy and is it garbage now?

Yes it is garbage now. Why is there mold? Because you put vegetable material with a sugar based liquid in a warm dark cupboard. It tends to rot and create mold. Now did you use PURE lemon extract or lemon extract with alcohol? You need the kind with alcohol. Alcohol is a preservative of sorts. Why don't you just do what I do? I soak the weed in Tequila. Makes a damn good green or golden (vaped weed) dragon.
The lemon extract you can get in the store on a spice rack is 83% alcohol. The alcohol is what makes Cannabis soluble. If you're using a home-made or organic lemon extract (without alcohol) it's going to go bad on you.
