pro mix vs coir

Too many variables. I personally use a mixture including half pro mix. Cocoa coir will require much more watering and the need for nutes early on. Promix has recently made a new mix that is primarily coir, but again, you are looking at an icrease of watering. Instead of watering 2x a week, you may have to water daily depending on your temps.

Coco coir is my choice as pro mix bx is most commonly used and being peat based it can be troublesome if the buffer is used up . Coir has a stable pH with no lime or oyster shell needed . I find that I can pull close to the same weight as my brother in DWC using coir and hand watering but the watering by hand is done daily even in ten gallon pots .
