Pro-Mix BX and PH problems

Im currently using a Pro-Mix BX,EWC,sheep humus mix and I added 1tsp of dolomitic lime per approx gallon. I water my plants with a water ph of 6.5 and it comes out at 6. So obviously my soil ph is very low. Im using peat based product so thats what i get I guess. Im currently getting a Magnesium deficency most definitely which i believe to be lockout. I also just tried sprinkling some on the top before i water aswell as disolving a bit in the actual water and my water runoff was still very low as far as my water ph test could tell. Seems when the runoff is merky its a little hard to tell the ph test results but it definitely is not yellow (6.5) my question is how much dolomitic lime do i need? and are the results from sprinkling/putting in the water immediate? also my question is can I overdo it with the lime? My lime is in granulated form which i grind to a powder. Thank you

You mean botanicare calmag? which is a liquid no? I want to use my dolomitic lime which is a calcium magnesium mix also I am not growing organic I use GH flora series.

I use pro mix bx/ worm castings/ and domolite lime at 2tbsp per gallon and my plants look like shit. Pro mix bx sucks , Im really pissed off that my plants turn lime green/ yellow when I have a buffer in the medium and ph in the soil itself is 6.4 wtf. If you have cal/mag deficiency which I know how that is with this shitty soil , you can also use epsom salt or botanicare cal/mag.

my runoff is coming out 6 after being 6.5 going in so i think my ph is way down. Yea i really wish I could get something better it seems like the greenhouse's around here use the pro-mix bx thats where i got it from. Otherwise my only other real option is sunshine mix #4. I think my plant has a mg defiency because its being lockedout. Does this make sense? Ill try and post a pic later

i use sunshine #4 which is about the same as promix...mabey a different source of the peatmoss

with some strains I notice brown spots and leaf curl....phours def

I use promix hp with excellent results...dolomite lime is a great buffer but ime breaks down too slowly to supplement....Cal-Mag plus is what I use and ro water

I think i figured it out I added 2 tbsps of dolomitic lime per gallon of medium and potted all my new guys in that and my older plants i kept putting a bit on top 2 times i watered and it seemed to straighten it out. The mg defiency dosent seem to be spreading anymore.

don't think you really need any cal/mag. if anything water until your runoff is somewhere around 6.4-6.5 ph, which in return should allow the uptake those nutrients.

i used the dolomitic lime to neutralize my soil so that i could get a ph of 6.5

as someone stated, it takes awhile for dolomite lime to breakdown in the soil, somewhere around a month or so.
to see fast results from dolomite lime, you would have to use hydrated lime and not the granulated lime. if you do decide to use hydrated lime, it is recommended to get your soil tested before adding any to it.

as well in VERY SMALL amounts as it can/will fry your plants

I used dolomitic lime which was granulated but i crushed it in a mortor and pestal lolll Im thinking of finding a old coffee grinder just for grinding up my lime. I looked everywhere in town and the only stuff available was granulated dolomitic lime
