Preventing planter boxes from rottin?

I Built my own planter boxes out of plywood. How do I prevent my boxes from rotting once I fill them with my soil recipe? Should I line them with plastic or use a non toxic oil based sealant on the inside?

Usually a copper lining. Pond liner would work too
