Preventing mold?

I was wondering if you people ever get to deal with mold on your buds?

What is the degree of harm it usually does?

Does it usually occur in last few week of flowering when the plant's own immune system is starting to die?

Is it easily spottable?

What do you do in order to prevent it to happen?

Good question! I've read aspirin helps boost their immune system and I use serenade or neem oil as a preventive up until second week of bloom, but i'm a novice so look forward to the more experienced answers!

Hello bro, never had a problem with bud mould until I got my shit down and started producing massive colas. It's was the worst experience of my life.

Had these BC mango that pissed me off the whole grow, flowered at 12" they grew to 6' and took a lifetime to flower. Had colas the width of my head tho.
One day I pulled a curled up dead leaf from the cola and it was mouldy, opened up the cola and although you'd never know it from looking at it, inside was slimy and rancid.
Removed the mould but that shit spread and before the end all the plants had it.

The only cure is prevention.
Remove any dying or dead foliage quick, or better yet keep the plants healthy by feeding enough nitrogen to keep the leaves green throughout the grow.
Keep humidity down.
