Prescription Drugs

Last year was the first year that the place where I live had more people overdose and die from prescription drugs than all other illicit drugs combined.
Sad.

How do so many pills get on the streets? Think of all the people dieing. Where do they get all the drugs. Doctors don't just hand them out like candy

Many doctors do hand them out like candy.

They also have a tendency to prescribe really dangerous drugs with little to no oversight. For example Paxil, Effexor and any other SSRI.

But, but they are all approved by the FDA, they can't be dangerous!

that's what fucking gets me about all of these prescription drugs.. growing up i always heard of people having to run off to meixico or switzerland in order to get certain operations and or drugs as the fda hadn't approved them for use in the us, so i had always thought they actually did something..
anymore i sit and watch tv during the day, and it seems like every other commercial is either a big pharma co pushing their latest and greatest cure all, all with a huge list of side effects..my favorite being the anti-depressant that cause suicide in people.. really, wtf is that??
or the other half of the ads i see are from law firms saying if you took one of the big pharma pills and how have a kid with 3 heads and a four foot cock, please call the law offices of johnny cochran to get in on the class action lawsuit..
it all really makes me sick tbh..

Lmao! I always lol when they start listing the side effects.

Then I proceed to smoke the cancer-causing, psychosis-inducing, devil weed :fire:

LOL! I take paxil for anxiety, and I haven't melted down or killed anybody...........yet!

I couldn't imagine what I'd be like without it, other than divorced.

I'm more worried about dangerous drugs like oxycontin. The kind of drugs people will rob and kill to get. SSRI's aren't even the tip of the iceburg when it comes to dangerous prescription drugs.

Be sure to get a friend to post the story's link when you do.

Wait til you try to get off Paxil, very addictive drug. Ever had Serotonin Syndrome?

Don't beleive the hype. I've had a couple of addictions, and paxil is NOT one of them.

I've purposefully gone off them. A few times, just to test the addiction theory. It takes about two weeks to start feeling higher anxiety, so I start taking them again. That's it.
No cravings, no craziness, just an ever increasing anxiety level.

No paxil=EXTREME anxiety.
Paxil=some anxiety
Paxil and weed=no anxiety

Unless you've been addicted to paxil, I have to say I know more about this one than you.

I have never taken Paxil or anything like that. Other than snorting Ritalin and cocaine and PCP a few times for kicks I tend to stay away from pharma drugs. My wife, on the other hand, took paxil for 8 years. She even had serotonin syndrome after taking a new SSRI med and no one caught the fact that you shouldn't mix SSRI drugs.

Sorry to hear about your wife.
Hopefully I can find the perfect anti-anxiety strain for me and stop taking the paxil.
LOL! Gives me a good reason to smoke as many different strains as possible.bongsmilie

Ever had Blue Dream? I especially love the sativa dominant phenotype.

I think I'll try to get ahold of some Mandala strains. I heard Satori and Kalichakra are good. They supposedly have no paranoia and anxiety side effects.

You're the majority. Others have though.

I couldn't imagine what I'd be like without it, other than divorced.

That's good that it works for you, it's still a very dangerous drug.

Yes, they are. Approximately 1% of patients have psychotic (that's a huge number) breaks due to consuming SSRI's or due to quitting them too quickly. I took effexor for years and was lied to and misled greatly about all the effects of the drug and I managed to have a break when I went on them initially and once when I tried to stop taking them cold turkey. Getting off them took a couple months drawing down the dosage (one of the best decisions I ever made, unfortunately taking them was possibly the worst decision I ever made in my life in hind sight but I was misled greatly by my Doctor and I'd sue her but the statute of limitations ran out long after the fact).

So, no, they are not 'safe' drugs. They are very dangerous. Recently a Canadian court ruled that SSRI's can cause children to commit murder.

Canadian judge rules SSRI antidepressants like Prozac can cause children to commit murder

Sunday, December 18, 2011 by: Jonathan Benson, staff writer

(NaturalNews) The use of antidepressant and psychiatric drugs, particularly among children, is an extremely risky activity that could have fatal consequences for both the individuals that use them, as well as their friends and family. According to the National Post, a Canadian judge recently ruled that the extreme mind-altering effects of the antidepressant drug Prozac were in large part responsible for causing a 15-year-old boy to thrust a nine-inch kitchen knife into one of his closest friends.

Though the Winnipeg boy that committed the heinous crime had allegedly abused prescription drugs and "experimented" with cocaine long prior to the incident, he had never had a violent or aggressive personality about him, according to reports. It was only when he began taking Prozac, the very thing doctors had given him as a so-called "solution" to his previous illicit drug problems, that he began to rapidly go off the deep end.

"He had become irritable, restless, agitated, aggressive and unclear in his thinking," said Justice Robert Heinrichs of the Manitoba Justice Department, who ruled on the case. "It was while in that state he overreacted in an impulsive, explosive and violent way. Now that his body and mind are free and clear of any effects of Prozac, he is simply not the same youth in behavior or character."

Also worth noting is that almost every spree killer in recent history (from Columbine and beyond) - something that only really became common pretty recently, around the same time frame these drugs became popular - has been taking some kind of SSRI.

Every drug has the potential to be dangerous. Aspirin and ibuprofin kill thousands every year.

Yeah, but Aspirin and Ibuprofen don't cause you to kill others.

It's a dangerous drug and should be treated as such. It's usually not though (like for example when you attempted to downplay said dangers).

I took Lamictal (Lamotrigine) and quit it cold turkey. It was the worst week of my life. I only had been taking it for two months. I was scared of the death rash and organ failure.

I also took topamax. It made it so soda pop tasted like ass. All bitter and hurt my throat. I also got nose bleeds and my face would go numb sometimes around my lips and cheeks.

Fuck prescription drugs. Sure I felt better than I do now 99% of the time, but once every month or so I'd flip out and I nearly beat about eight people to death. My wife was around all those times and stopped me. When on a bipolar agitated, euphoric and apathetic rage, it 's just like being on PCP. I was punched twice in the gut and didn't feel it. Only hours later I was slightly sore.

So I'd rather that not happen again and instead feel like shit 99% of the time.

If you're trying to tell me you didn't know not to quit cold turkey, you are an outright FUCKIN LIAR! Either that or you didn't read the government mandated safety sheet that came with the prescription.

Do people actually put pharmys in their body without learning about what they are first?
I guess it could really be dangerous if you don't follow the safety guidelines. Every time you pick up a prescription of this, a sheet comes with it that says "Do not stop taking this without consulting a doctor."
