i have four plants all are still on 18/6 and are in soil. they have been vegging for about 7 weeks now and they all have either one or two white hairs coming out of the pistols at the v where branches are shooting off is this a guarantee that they are are female or could they still end up being males (i killed 2 bc it had what i thought were deff male preflowers but now i feel like i jumped to early though i thought generally male preflowers showed before females) i have never really had a plant make it this evident in the preflower stage for me so thats y i am asking if these plants showing the hairs from preflowers are deff females or is it still to early to tell and do male preflowers show before females

Post a pic. prob female.

Why not just flip and see for sure? That is a long veg time and if you flip, you have time to remove males before they fuck up any girls.

Why is everyone so quick to chop down plants they arent sure of?...From the time male flowers are identified to the time they have developed into full blown nanners is about two weeks, in my experience. Plenty of time to get a positive identification. It's not like one day you need a magnifying glass to look at the pre flower and the next day your whole crop is pollinated.

I imagine many a potentional female has been chopped because growers are paranoid. Wait it out and see.

In reality...

(Actually all females) :wall:
ya they looked like the quintessential description of male preflower a few balls on sticks at the nodes and nothing like what the others looked like and thought I read somewhere that a male preflower can create pollin and still do damage even though the plant is gone but the pollen is still there when you flip I guess just give em a good wash down before you flip would prolly stop any problems but I was more curious if the male preflowers will show before females

ya the veg took so long bc I spent about an extra 2 - 2-1/2 weeks training them with mainlining some have 8 tops others have 12 so that's really where a lot of the time went but I am happy with the structure now just have never really been able to sex this easy before I flip my lights which I thought was odd but usually I don't spend that much time training either

Pre flowers will show once the plant is sexually mature clones from a sexually mature plant will preflower almost straight away, yes it is a female but bare in mind it can still turn hermaphrodite if to stressed to much by undesirable conditions etc

ya i guess i have not vegged long enough before to really let them show like this and ya i'm hoping they dont end up herming i know you can cause reg or fem to herm with to much stress but ive herd generally reg seeds are little more stable as far as thats concerned (herming) compared to fem seeds whether there is any truth to that idk
