PPM Question...

Do you add the ppm of your water into your final count?

My tap water is about 400 ppm (ill never drink it again) and If my plants need say 800ppm, do I start at the 400ppm from the water and add until I get to 800ppm?

Or do I need 800ppm of nutes for a total of 1200ppm?

Also anyone know the general PPM schedule for plants starting from clones-flowering?

Whoa!! 400 ppm tap water? i never seen that shit before. All that means is it your tap water has alot of metals in it thus the high ppm. But im not sure why people say tap water is bad because it has all the secondary nute like calcium iron ect. the only bad thing i see is clorine but that evaporates within 24 hrs.

But 400 ppm thats really hard water my tap water is a lil bit above 200 ppm i just keep adding nute till it get to the disired amount, but in your case just add a lil bit over say 100-200 ppm this is because your adding the main nute(n-p-k). But i think you should really get a ro filter and some calmag that water is too hard and sometime too much secondary nute can lockout the main nute. <<<read it somewhere.

Are you saying I might die? I really dont want to piss out kidney stones. Well Ive found a solution...my GF buys cases of bottled water and I just emptied all of them for the sweet sweet crystal geyser 80ppm water and replaced it with the death water.

Whats a good ppm for 2 week old clones?

no, water makes you stay alive so you won't die, its jsut i never heard of or even thought that there were tap water at 400 ppm. If you think about it a clone feeds at 400 ppm already, but this is only with the npk nutes.

Lot of places have ppm water around 400 including my area.Anyways.I have asked around in the past and got different answers but have gone over the past few years with not counting the starting water ppm.So if you are suposed to be at 1200 ppm then your reading will actually say 1600 ppm on your ppm meter. As far as feeding schedule depends on the nutes maker.Fox Farm are the simplest out there and they have thier chart downloadable on thier site with week by week ppm, EC and needed flush schedules with light schedules all in 1 nice easy chart showing hydro and soil specs.
