Hey all i'm looking for some info and input into something interesting and rather geeky i stumbled upon regarding ppm meters and their settings. I recently bought and eco tester tds low meter that reads ppm but actually measures ec and converts it to ppm using a microprocessor as is common with most ppm meters. My eco pen comes with a conversion factor setting of .71 from factory but after extensive reading i've found that dutch master recommends using .50 on your meter. After figuring out how to set this on mine and testing i found that the original setting made the ppms read 100 average under in comparison with the .5 setting. Has anyone else ever done this? Is it worth looking into or have i found something not commonly known? Because everyone i've asked even the hydro store guys had never done it but after i questioned them and explained the tech behind it, he had a lightbulb moment and since has noticed a couple of niggling problems vanishing after changing his settings. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated, wanna know if i'm the only uber geek on here lol
