Im am currently at my max power for my 110v circuit but I have a free 30 amp 220 circuit ready to use. I have 2 600 watt hps lights but will be getting a 3rd soon.

Any Ideas on a power box that I can plug in to the 220 than has atleast 3 110 outlets on it? I have about 200 to spend

Nice, no electrical experience and he recommends you check google......yikes.

It would not be difficult to do a sub-panel but a working knowledge of electrics-at least in theory would be best.

For instance that 220v wire has 2 hot and a ground and i think you will need a neutral, a hot and a ground to wire a panel.......so some expertise is best

Big Bud Balls can usually be found around here and I believe he is an EE by training.......He and Al B Fuct used to talk tech that was way over my head.....he could probably talk you right through it......

But an easier solution might be to buy the 240v cord for your ballast.....I run all my lights on 240v outlets....Check out the threads in my sig.

Better yet if your a med grower have an electrician wire 240 to all your ballasts....i paid $100/outlet for 6 outlets to be installed.....$200 should get you pretty close with an electrician....

There's a couple of ways you could approach this. Since you're prepared to pay, you must not be real comfortable with electricity, so you'd best go ahead and have a pro do it, or someone who is comfortable w/it.
I had posted how I'd try and do it, but decided it was just enough info to get someone hurt, so deleted it.
I'd sure do it for 200, assuming the wire isn't impossible to get to, 'cuz it sounds like you might have to pull another wire over there from the panel, for code.
Maybe not?
How hard that is I'd guess would play a big part of the price, and the new breaker.

Thanks guys! I found a DIY box plan for 80.00 probably will go with that. I have a trust worthy friend who's an electrician I can talk to also.

Anybody else?

looks like a comprable product to the link I posted....i would want to know if it staggers them at start-up to avoid hot starts as the one I linked you to does....Quality of components are paramount with electrical items like this and it looks a little cheap.....just make sure its of good quality.

China is not a good place to purchase hydro components from....IMHO
