potting up

For my first grows I always have used a smaller pot and switched every couple weeks. I was just wondering the benefits as to just planting in my last and final pot as this seems much easier.

I only switch once and it seems to work out great. If you start out a seedling in 5gal as opposed to a 1gal then the only real problem would be watering in my opinion. I usually start off in a prop tray, then 1 gal, then 5gal. Reduces stress on the plant and able to keep moisture under control. Thus, not root rot, or any problems that pertain to the roots

No repotting. No transplant shock. Only benefit to increasing pot size slowly is a chance to add freshly ammended soil. Usually only helps when your using organic soil.
