Potting soil clumping together straight out of the bag? what should I do?

whats the best way to get rid of these clumps? the soil is filled with little clumps and bigger clumps. Not cool.. I usually run coco choir, im trying this bio tera organic soil, and its mad clumpy.

I have 30 Gallons of soil to mix. if i have to break up these clumps by hand im a snap someones neck, my fingers are already sore and im not even half way done 1 5gl pot.

would a blender work??

any suggestions?

just rub it between your hands as you need it. Every bale of promix i buy is like that, its not a big deal.

lol really dude? you have to be pretty new to this if you havent had to deal with some clumps here and there. and dont ruin your blender by putting dirt in it! lol. step on the bag or just break the stuff up by hand.

not at all. as i mentioned ive always used coco. its very fine never seen a clump before in coco. this bio tera is all clumps, it comes really damp. so it makes it harder to break up. im better off letting it dry out or something its actually really hard to break up while its wet.

Wow is all I can say. If you are sweating breaking up some clumps, what happens when something actually goes wrong like nute burn, over/under watering...etc...GOOD LUCK!

buddy.. not sweating. just sayn this soil is mad clumpy. i literally sat there for 40 min un clumping maybe 3 gl of soil.. i have to do 6 5gl pots. lol thats almost 6 hours of finger crumpling shit.

i legit lift weights and do cardio everyday, its fun.. itty bitty finger crushing soil. actually hurts my hands.

just asking a simple question for advice, it doesn't make u a better grower or a tougher man to chirp me.

i harvested 4 plants that weighed in over 20 zips. so you can get good kid and wish yourself good luck.

damn man well i suggest using LOTS of perlite with that stuff or imagine how your roots are gonna feel when they are trying grow through that shit.

looks like a cat pooped in you soil. Does it smell good? Dont have that issue with ffof.

So you came hear to bitch about clumps in the soil and asking us if you can put soil in a blender? I am really confused here. What are you trying to make a Margarita for you plant or what?

If you are complaining about having to work on soil for 4-5 hrs then I'm not sure what you plan on doing for the 3+ months that you need to wait for your girl to mature.

I mean when I mix my super soil I spend probably have a day or more just getting it to the way I like it by working it and making sure it's exactly the way I like it. But hey I guess if you don't wanna spend the time breaking up the soil you can seed me the beans you were going to plant in that soil ;)

ya.. just wanna know what most people do. idk. maybe im spoiled with using fine coco in the past that i didnt realize you have to spend have a day breaking up soil. i mean i will do it. but ya like my fingers are killing me.. and i was wondering some alternatives.

lol people love coming on here acting tough i see. pretty jokes

Just use a small hand held gardening fork or trowel to break up the lumps as you put it in...

Hey bro your best bet is to let the dirt sit in the bag, partially opened. I'm betting its slightly frozen and or sitting on a skid for awhile. Leave it for a bit in a warmer room and then bust it up. Maybe you'll want to throw it on the ground like when you break up bags of ice before you cut open the corner though and by the time it's no longer partially frozen you'll be able to break it up easier with your hands... If not it will at least be a good forearm workout :p
