Potting from 100% Perlite to coco. Help!

Folks, I have a plant that I have in perlite and witch to transplant into cocc. The problem I have is that when I take off the pot the perlite falls off. I know I can shower it all off but the question is should i? Also id I do what do I do with the roots, straight down, flatten out on a layer in middle?

I just did this recently with great results. I took the plant out of the perlite and hosed it down. Put a layer of coco in the bottom of my pot and suspended the plant while filling the rest of the pot up. There wasn't even the slightest bit of transplant stress and it continued growing like nothing had changed.
