Potash of Sulphate...anyone???

Hi growers,
just wondering if anyone else uses Potash of Sulphate in their indoor grow , and if so, what results they have had.
As a very experienced outdoor grower, who moved to grow tents five years ago because I don't have the garden to grow outdoors any more, I swear by the stuff.
So, has anyone used it?
I spread it on my pot's topsoil and water it in. I do it about two weeks before flipping to 12/12 and twice during flower. Using a good potting mix and a coco medium.
It thickens the stems and bushes out the flowers and I have found you need little else to promote good bud growth.
Has anyone else tried this stuff?

it is ok, n0-p0-k50% s17% or so. I don't like it because I use monoPotassium Phosphate(0-52-34) and soluble kelp 1-0-18. Potassium Sulphate (potash S) is not as good as the MonoPK, Calcium Nitrate, Kelp, Magnesium Sulfate combo for bloom.

I notice potash sulfate drowns the magnesium and calcium that a plant needs.

My water is quite heavy in calmag, as far as I know.
Still, I'll try it and sue your pants off if it goes tits up

heheheh.. Sparetime Supply makes a great 1-0-18 for about $13 per pound (you will not find a better deal) and some really good shit.. instantly soluble, makes the water smell a little like the ocean, has all micro nutes, awesome.

monoPK will hold the pH low because it is slightly acid and this will cause a rock-steady pH where as the Potassium Sulfate will cause a more neutral or alkaline buffer. You can get 5lbs of MonoPK on amazon for $20. Be sure to add the nitrogen, calcium, mag, and suf, if using monoPK. if using Urea (during veg), the monoPK will contain the bulk of the ammonia discharge as well. really good chit.


oh, edit.. be sure to add the kelp and dissolve first because the monoPK will juice the water and prevent the kelp from dissolving.. chemistry..

I don't like potassium sulfate for similar reasons to pSi007. I'm starting to agree a lot more with what he's been saying recently.

Instead of potassium sulfate, I use either mono potassium phosphate, potassium nitrate, or potassium hydroxide flakes (if pH is low and you want potassium at the same time).

If there isn't enough K from the KH2PO4, some of the calcium nitrate can be replaced with potassium nitrate, which is very high in K.

Sulfate levels are generally high enough if you use magnesium sulfate as your main source of Mg.

The H2PO4- ions in the KH2PO4 do work as a good pH buffer.

Too high levels of sulfates can also theoretically cause calcium sulfate to precipitate.
