Hi guys, have had some beans sitting in the cupboard for 15 or more years, tried to germinate 5 or 6 but no go,, I thought I read somewhere a while back there was something you could put on them that would restore them to some degree ??
Sorta bring old seed back to life,

what they said

While not as old as yours, I've just germinated some +5 yr old seeds.
Soak in water & H2O2, paper towel etc...planted 50 or more seeds, more than 2 weeks have gone by and so far just 6 seeds popped (all today)
So it might take some time

Good luck

Ah ,gibberellic acid
Is that supposed to in some way help reverse the ageing process of the seed, or how and why are you expecting it to be helpful

I remember seeing some kind of kit you can buy for getting old seeds to germ. Duno the cost. Duno how worthwhile it is and duno the brand/name. Maybe goog it
There's also a way where you sprout a bunch of alfalfa and use it to help germ seeds. I'm sorry I don t have the full info on it, just something I read a while back. Damn. I'm full of semi useless information... Lol

If I remember correctly it aids the germination of the seed on an enzymatic level. ..?? Not just a "boost of oxygen" like using hydrogen peroxide which is another option.

it fucks with your seeds if i remember correctly. its used to make pollyploids n shit.
op, stick to matchbox of course sandpaper and hydrogen peroxide h202 . if they dont germ, there prob no good, allwys keep seeds in freezer with a desicant, they will last up to 20yrs i believe

If seeds are in any kind of dormancy (where they won’t germinate), applying a little bit of Gibberellic Acid can help overcome said dormancy. In fact, it could even lead to a faster germination than otherwise. Try using about 2 ppm of Gibberellic Acid on your seeds when trying to get to germination.

its used to reverse sex of plants too.
i seem to remember some kids at collage growing my northan lights, useing giberellic acid to try and get pollyploids, which they sucseeded in doing
