Pollen longevity?

Noob question.

If a male plant gets to pollination in a 3' x 5' grow area, how long is the pollen viable? Could it cling to walls/other surfaces long enough to affect the next grow cycle plants? If so, is a good vacuuming enough to remove it all?

i think two months i have held on to pollen for a lil over 2 month and i dusted a lot of plants i didnt get but like 3 seeds it works like that though life when you want to it to work it doesnt and when you dont want it to work it does???? kinda like when you got weed and you want to drop it and you dont get calls and when you dont have any everyone wants some kinda like that.. but if i were you clean it water hills pollen, bleach does to and so does heat, bleach water to be safe but thats my experience i hear that some sativas last as long as six months but i just heard that???

No real idea about viability times, but I do know your vacuum idea isn't going to amount to much. I had a herm open in a tent a few years back, so after the grow was completed I took a spray bottle with water and soaked the inside down. Scrubbed every square inch of it down with damp paper towels. I guess I got all the pollen because my next flower cycle in that same tent was 100% seedless. Was a huge pain in the ass so now I am ever vigilant while looking for nanners.

I have had pollen last up to 3 to 5 months. Although I store mine in an air tight container in the fridge for longer shelf life. :0 hope that helps..

I think what the OP wants to know specifically is how long the pollen will remain dangerous in his grow room, and not how long he can store it.

In an grow environment under artificial light, days rather than weeks.

Perhaps under the right conditions and certain exceptional circumstances but in general, even if the pollen were from bananas spawned at the end of the flower cycle, by the time new plants are in it with pistils able to capture some of that pollen it won't be viable anymore. You're talking about a male pollinating however and no that pollen won't survive in the grow area the month or two it will take for the next grow to have plants with flowers that can be pollinated.

If there still is viable pollen than vacuuming probably isn't going to catch it all. Humidity is more effective. Spray in the grow area or use a humidifier. Don't actually need to spray it off areas or hood for example just raise the humidity for a day or two. Preferably remove the carbon filter if any so you don't pull 80% humidity through it and ruin it.
