So guys, there are lots of interesting grow kits out there. Personally I like DIY jobs, but that may be why I'm interested in making/selling complete grow kits. I was just looking to get a general idea of how many people are interested in buying an all-inclusive kit--completely customizable, organic nutes and soil included, basically everything you need. I was thinking of selling the 150w HPS kit I made for $420, including all you need (except the seed, haha that is our slogan). So let me know what you think--would you buy something like this?

Would I buy it? No, but that's not to say people wouldn't.

There's always a market for that stuff.
Some folks are just too lazy or don't mind throwing down for a plug and grow kit.

i'd buy one. if pot is leagalized, im sure you'll be able to pick up a complete grow kit @ the gardening section at your local home depot.

yes, comes with everything you need, light, ballast, set of fox farm nutes, etc. Me and my associates are planning on setting up a website where you can completely customize your box down to every detail. Soil or hydro setups, basically all you need. I appreciate the replies, as my superiors are looking for some market research--even though we think theres a market for pre-made customizable growboxes, we want to see some potential customer interest.

That said, if anyone wants to offer what features they would be most interested in (stealth, superior ventilation, hydroponics systems, etc) and how much they would pay for such a thing we would be grateful for the information.

Not everyone has the time or wherewithal to build their own, but our product is aimed at making sure they can still grow their own.
I appreciate the input, Geekyg.

I think the "customizable" idea is really what sets this plan apart. I've had some less than positive experiences with pre-fab grow kits, but that is because the kit didn't meet my needs, not that it did not work properly.

I wouldn't buy it......with 420 bucks I could build a pretty decent setup with more watts in lighting.......but that's me.. I am super savy when it comes to shopping, and I am very intuitive when it comes to building.......but don't let that discourage you I know a lot of people that are too intimidated when it comes to diy....at least tell us in a more descriptive manner what these kits include......

I should have mentioned that $420 was the price point for one of our pre-made boxes.

Like CDXX said, the problem with pre-made kits is that they cant possibly satisfy everyone's needs. There are too many different features and not everyone wants the same thing--some people dont need stealth and want yielding power, while some would prefer a completely discreet growbox that would blend into a room or garage (think an old busted hollowed out refrigerator). We decided that the best way to do it would be to allow customers to buy a simple pre-made kit, or go through the more comprehensive process of customizing it down to the screw.

That said, the options that each box includes would be priced differently. A CFL box would be cheaper than a MH/HPS or LED box, hydroponics would be more expensive, etc. Organic soil and nutes are optional, as are CO2 generators, odor protection, and superior lightproofing. As I mentioned earlier, we also allow you to choose what kind of shell you want the box to have--toolshed, PC case, minifridge (full size if youre ambitious), etc. This option costs a little extra, but we want to be able to cater to the individual needs of every potential customer.

Questions and Feedback are welcome!

$420??? Thats a little pricey. If u had a pic of what a customer could get, that would help. I have 2 150w Hps sunsystems. Those were$90. Im sure you get them cheaper, from a distributer. My grow/veg/clone box was $57. Check the signature

I understand the concept tho. There is a market for it. Alot of people are just to busy to run around for everything. Good idea.
