I WANNA GROW USING A HYDROPONICS SETUP. I WOULD BE GROWING IN A DRESSER THAT MEASURES 3ft HX 3ft LX 14 1/2 inch W

MATERIALS I GOT SO FAR: ONE 400W M H LIGHT.
ONE 14 GAL. RUBBERMAID BOX 23.9 inch LX 14 1/2 inch WX 12.2 inch L
ONE AQUARIUM BUBBLE STONE 14"/35.6CM
FOX FARM NUTES
PH TESTER & ADJUSTER
FANS FOR CIRCULATION IN & OUT THE DREESER.
REFLECTIVE MYLAR SHEETS
AND SUM BAG SEEDS.

I'M NOT SURE OF WHAT KIND OF AIR PUMP , SUBMERSABLE WATER PUMP , SIZE OF NET POTS AND QUANTITY I SHOULD BE USING WITH THIS 14 GAL BOX.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE????

THANKS IN ADVANCE:joint:

You really need to rethink this. The box is 3 feet tall and the tub is 2 feet tall. Where do the plants go?

You need to get rid of the box,its too big,and unless the 400 watt is a cool tube you going to have serious issues with heat build up,if i was you i would invest in a 200 watt blue spectrum CFL for veg and then a 200 watt red spectrum for flower, theres no ballast reqired for these lights, and are much easier to deal with heat wise, are you going to be cutting any holes in the dresser door??maybe use a "NFT" hydro system, their low in size, and maybe use a Low Rider (ruderalis??)type of strain(self flowering also),very easy to control set up!you could grow grade B weed, considering the lights youd use, grade B is so sweet!try using your bubbler and 400 watt else where,ALSO buy a cheap thermometer, you can build the NFT system yourself, theres DIY systems all over the net!:bigjoint:check out grotec.co.uk,very good prices, plus with the bulbs you get a free reflector!!

This illustrates that much of what is discussed about all the "chemistry" and need to have everything just right is, in fact, hype to sell more and more solutions. There is a lot of money in selling pot growing solutions. And you can sell more "solutions" when there are more "problems."

Simpler is always better, but remember what Einstein said: "Solutions should be as simple as possible, but no simpler."

OK i want to stick with the 400w mh for veg then i would buy one of those conversion bulbs for flowering stage. So i decided i'll grow in a closet cabinet instead that measures 6ft Hx 3 1/2ft Lx 2 1/2ft W is this better now?? I just need to know what air pump is best for the 14gal reservoir?

Get a pump with at least 2 outlets and run at least 2 airstones, mine is an ecoplus 6 Watt, 2 outlet and I have it in an 18 gallon tote. I have run this over night a few times on bubbles only when it was leaking around the lid without a problem. It was like $15 at the local hydro shop. Good luck!

what size net pots are you using? Dose it make a difference in the size of the plant or thickness of the stem?

I'm thinking of buying this 8 inch inline fan for exhaust to cool down the closet cabinet from the 400w mh light i'll be using would this be enough ???

Elite Air Prodycts 250/500* CFM 8 Inch Inline Fan

8" Dual Crimped Ends
Steel housing features
Polycarbonate Blades
250 CFM Flow
*500 CFM Booster Flow
Includes 8FT attached power cord
80 Watts
Balanced motors with permanently lubricated ball bearings ensure vibration-free operation
Measures 8" diameter and 8" long

I'd lose the dresser and get a secret jardin dark room tent. They're amazing! They come in a range of sizes from 60 x 60 x 140 cm up to 300 x 300 x 200cm. I bought mine from http://www.theinnergarden.co.uk/ and I wouldn't look back. No messing around with bits of wood and mylar. Comes in a handy carry bag so I just packed mine up when I was done. In fact my mate is borrow it for his grow right now :-)

That fan should do fine. The price is a little questionable I would check into this one http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=46447. Also to seal the edges from light, line the inside with mylar or panda film. Personally I would use panda film but its up to you.:bigjoint:
