Please Help Will this Light Fixture Work???

You can make that bulb work vegatative and flower if you want. You just need the right bulb.

Well says it is a Metal Halide with 400w...so it should work awesome for your plants...and this is little known but you can even flower under that light, while it is not "ideal" it won't decrease your yield or any such thing...

Looks weird though...but kudos on a free 400w ...Wish I had friends like that...

You might want to add a few 2700K CFL's to add to your light spectrum.

No reason to do that...I can veg numerous plants under a 400w, and flower at least 3 large plants...

I agree, add a few "soft white" CFL's in there to mix up the spectrum a little bit, your plants will thank you for it when they are flowering.

that light will work throughout the whole grow though without adding anything.

It looks that way because its an Industrial HID, Like what they use to light Home Depot's Garden center and tons of other stuff lol

Yeah you can definitely use that fixture to veg your plants. You could even flower with that fixture if you pick up an HPS Conversion Bulb.
