Please help on light review

I have a friend who has a 1000W HPS Sylvania Lumalux Hg bulb in his garage and offered it to me for $20. I tried to see if anyone has used this bulb or knows if it is good at all. Please any quick information with any facts would be greatly appreciated.

Also thx for the response I think I'll grab it, just want to know if I should upgrade asap or if I'm cool till next go around because there is always so much talk about lights.

Yah ,Sylvania's are fine . I've used them in the past, 20 bucks is a good deal too.

You really don't want second hand lights, try and save up for new ones.

I dunno, 20 bucks for a 100 dollar bulb seems OK to me. Even if it fails in 3 months you are ahead.

thats what I was thinking especially if you're trying to use a small budget.

is it like a just bulb or a ballest and bulb? or do you already have the ballest?

I would also be scepticle of second hand bulbs. can you get any info in it. Like how long it has been used for and stuff like that.

On a side note. It might be worth picking it up just to have as spair. That way if you main bulb braks you don't have to be panicking about getting a new one.

It wasn't used much, let's say max one grows worth.

From the first bit of info you posted it looks fine.

I don't beleave that there is that much in bulbs really. your ballest will make a bigger differance.

Deffinatly should pic the bulb up, it will be usefull to you one day.
I was told that bulbs lose 20% on there first grow.

both too much and too little info there..can't tell what they are from those specs , sorry.

np, I got the hps and it seems to be the reliable one.
