Hey all,
My first growing from seeds; last time a friend sorted me out with some fine cuttings - this time I've got a very discrete little grow box with Envirolights and Lowryders. Anyway, I've never had to sex my plants before, I think most of them are male :? But I'm not completely sure. Please help me sex these, I've taken pics of the bits which make me think they're male:

Plant 1

Plant 2

Plant 3

Plant 4

It's the droopy bulbous buds at the nodes that makes me think they're male. Am I right? If so I suppose I'll bin these 4 plants and start a new batch.

Peace.

Androo

plant 3 I can't tell if that banana looking thing is male pods, but the other three are indeed male. tough luck.

Plant 1 & 2 are definately male, and plant 3 & 4 not sure, really cant tell, why not grow them out if they are ALL males and make you some hash.

Good luck!!

??????? how do you make hash from males wtf. 1,2,4 males for sure. 3 hard to tell, that growth doesn't look like pollen sacks though. sucks dude.

Yeah sorry about the big pictures I didn't want to resize them because I know how important detail is. I'll see if I can resize them now I know what gender they are.

Thanks for the advice guys - plants 1, 2 and 4 are now culled. 3 is under close observation. Is it worth me keeping the flowers from 1,2 and 4 and drying them out as an emergency smoke - or will it just give me a headache ???

definately all male mate. And yes, you can make hash out of them, infact it is the best thing you can do with them.

OK I've posted resized pictures although I think I picked different pics this time round. Still, hopefully this thread will be of some use to others trying to sex their plants (that's why I bothered resizing the pics).

I hope I get some more females next time round. Still, those plants were only three weeks from seed so it's not a huge setback (amazing plants these LowRyder 2s)

sorry, but you cant use those males for anything but to save the pollen for reproduction, as for hash, males dont produce thc, so you cant do it, better luck next time! my first grow i planted 10 seeds every single one was a male i was so bummed!dont feel bad! good luck though!

Any thing with balls is a male.
To try to increase your female ratio try to make sure they have a decent amount of blue light from seed and that the soil that you are growing in has a naturally good nitrogen content:blsmoke:

it is not true that males do not produce ANY THC.

they produce some, very little. But if you use a method like butane extraction (i.e> honey oil) a good ounce or so of plant material can yield a couple grams of Oil.

Hemp is the plant that produces no THC and is legal for commercial use in some places. ( i have heard that evne hemp contains low levels of THC, but very trace amounts)

Marijuana produces THC in varying amounts.

Females have more THC because of the resin glands that cover the flowers/buds. That is the most concentrated area for cannaboid production
