Please help me set up my grow area

Hello,
Greetings everyone
I am a first time grower and unavailability of good quality marijuana has often got me thinking to grow some on my own but i have always had financial issues and now after years i have saved some money to get into growing but i have some hurdles which i want to cross with the help of . So if you can help me with your time that would be wonderful. I am planning to grow indoors but i want to know what measure i need to take to make an optimal grow space.

The environment:
  • Temperature(of the city i stay) -
32degree celsius high and 25 degree celsius low as of today

  • Humidity(of the city i stay) -
59% as of today
[i am planning to start my grow next month as it is rainy season here so humidity spikes else it is very dry here around ~ 40-50% humidity- mid sept and october]

So starting with what i have now:
  • Light - Flourtronix 250W LED grow light
  • Nutrients - Advanced Nutrients pH perfect and Advanced Nutrients Big Bud Coco
  • Pots - 12" x 12"(5 Gallon Fabric pots)
  • Seeds - Fastbuds : Autoflowering seeds (Gorilla Cookies and Gelato Auto) ; dinafem feminised seeds (Moby Dick#2 and Critical Jack)
  • Grow space - Spare Bathroom with an exhaust fan (5ft x 9ft is the size of the bathroom and I'm planning to use 3ft x 3ft of space inside with 7ft height)
  • Fan - 1 x 250mm Swing fan electric powered; 1x 100mm Swimg fan electric powered as well
I don't have a grow tent as it is around 600 US Dollars for just the tent in my country so i can DIY the grow tent with PVC pipes but

  • I am not sure about the material of the walls of the tent as Panda film is also very expensive(200 USD).
  • If i make the tent will it be able to take the temperature and heat inside the grow space ~(3ft x 3ft x 7ft height)
  • I don't have an AC and humidifier so will i be able to survive without it? I am planning to 2 more fans.
And what if i plan to not make a grow tent and just make the pvc pipe structure to hold the lights in place as the walls in my bathroom have creamish white tiles only issue with this is i have a huge light leaking from my exhaust.

It would be really great if people here can guide me in the right direction.
Thank you for your time
Happy 420!
Cheers

You can totally build a PVC frame to hold the light. If you're pretty sure you'll be dealing with light leaks, OR just growing plants within an open PVC frame, then consider growing autoflowers. They won't be affected by light pollution. Autoflowers grown in an open PVC frame would be way more cost effective than using Panda film to create walls, at that price I wouldn't waste the money.

A bathroom is a great place to run a grow in my opy, because bathrooms are already outfitted to handle humidity and moisture, and can often contain smells better than a standard bedroom or closet.

Thank you for a positive response.
  • Will i be able to achieve optimum temperature without using an AC and humidifier?
  • How do i minimise the bright lights visible from exhaust fan hole and translucent panels below it which is quite visible from outside the washroom?
  • Optimum no. Of plants to grow in a grow space of 3ft x 3ft x 7ft height when I am planning to get maximums yields from each by utilising the space

Without a tent you want to build a light trap or baffle , Google it.. essentially it's a box , cardboard will do, which will allow free air movement without letting light in.

Your temps are very high as it is.

Without AC you will have to run lights off I'm the warmest part of the day..

I'd run photoperiod plants so in flower you are running 12 hours of light during the night , 9pm to 9am or whatever the coolest time of night is.

Dont worry about a dehumidifier for now.

I'd grow a single plant to fill 2.5x 2.5ft

You can't grow without air exchange mate. You are going to need to pull fresh air in and exhaust the air in the grow space 24/7. If you don't you will have low C02 and high humidity. This will cause big problems.

Your moby dick and critical jack will fill that space, you'll need to make sure you train them. I wouldn't complicate it too much if you're looking to save money.

Put a tarp down on the floor.
Hang the light.
Put the plants under it.
Dont worry about the walls and panda film, the light will bounce off those tile walls just fine
Turn on your vent fan and open a window, there must be a window in the bathroom.
If you want optimum temp and RH you will not get that without a dehumidifier and ac.
Just make sure there is good airflow around the plants and you should be ok
You can make it so your lights turn on at night instead so you can control the temps better with cooler nights, and just cover the light leaks during the day when lights are off.
You have one 250 w grow light its not going to produce much heat
Stop worrying about optimum yield in your first grow, just get growing, learn and get to the point of harvest where you can enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Hopefully that helps

Growing in coco for your first grow will also make it a little more difficult, you are married to your plants for at least 3 months. They need alot of micromanaging and daily water feed. I wish you luck and if you have questions in coco there are many very good experienced growers on this site that can answer almost any question or issue you have. Keep us updated and show us a pic of your setup when youre done.

if you board it off, you know, make the sides from board, paint it flat white, its more reflective then the silver stuff im seeing people use

I think he said in one post he had white tiles, those should be ok but boarding off would be a cheap route as well. Kinda like build a room in the bathroom

I don't mind turning my lights on at night but i just do not want my grow light(when ON) to leak from my bathroom shaft as it feels like there is a fire in my bathroom when i tried to look at it from outside the shaft. I mean to say like it is a lot of light and people might get concerned that there might be a fire and i want no attention for my ladies. If you have a solution do let me know.

i am planning to switch my lights on for the night as it is quite cool at night here.

okay so i will go with a single photoperiod for my first grow.

I have a window in my bathroom and that is my only source of air exchange coupled with an exhaust fan and 3 fans for circulation. Wouldn't that be enough?

Hey thank you so much for your time and a very optimistic reply,
There is a window and an exhaust fan pn the same wall of my bathroom but the problem I'm facing is my grow light leaks when i turn it on at night and i believe it might give attention to it and from outside it really feels like something is on fire inside so it is a big concern for me and idk what to do here, i just don't want to cover the window as it is great source for circulation.

i have 3small fans and a big fan for circulation will that be enough?

i am planning to grow at night only as the temperature is good here at night.

okay yes will be more focused on the fruits of my labour and enjoying the joirney myself.

I'm looking forward for my grow in coco and micromanaging the plant,i will keep you guys updated and would surely uplooad a photoof my setup soon.
Thank you again brother.
Cheers

Should be ok. Run the fan blowing out that window 24/7
Yes i will do that for sure just i have my grow light(when ON) to leak from my bathroom shaft as it feels like there is a fire in my bathroom(it is when my 250watts light are turned on to max power) when i tried to look at it from outside the shaft. I mean to say like it is a lot of light and people might get concerned that there might be a fire and i want no attention for my ladies. If you have a solution do let me know.

Okay great, i have been advised this here it's just that i don't have access to the outside of the window so will it be okay if i build the baffle on inside the washroom window?
Anything that stops the light reaching the outside will work. Doing inside your washroom is probably the best bet

So here is something else. I might get some shit for this but I tried it and it worked fine. This current indoor grow from start to finish I never once brought in fresh air from the outside other than opening my door to go in the bedroom. It was essentially a sealed room with no fresh air other than like I said opening the door and perhaps some air leaking in from around the air conditioner. No added CO2 either. So I have an air conditioner, and I covered the window above the air conditioner with cardboard and a towel so light doesnt come through or go out. I also have a dehumidifier, a large stand up high velocity shop fan, and some small oscillating fans on the floor blowing up from the bottom of the canopy on each side of the 5x10. I grew 10 plants in 15 gallon pots, mostly all skunk strains. I have an air quality meter that measures CO2 and other things as well and my CO2 stayed in range between 400 and 460 which is ok. I was running about 1000 true watts total from the wall of cheap no name LEDS in a cheap no name tent. I paid a total of $500 for all the lights and the tent. Only reason I used a tent instead of the room floor is because the ceiling in the bedroom is those cheap tiles and hanging lights and shit would be a pain in the ass I also like the base of the tent because when I water 15 gallon pots theres lots of runnoff and the base is waterproof. I just use a shop vac after and vacume it all up and wipe down. I had no issues with mold or mildew. I actually must say this was one of the easiest grows ive ever done. It went really smooth, the buds are super frosty and nice, smell is amazing, buds are solid and fat. I mean its one of my better quality grows so far and I grew it in the heat of the summer when temps outside were in the 90s alot of times. I also ran a negative ion generator this grow for the first time, not sure what that did if anything but I read some studies on that and wanted to try it.

So what Im saying is you could literally just put a small ac unit in the window and thats it and youll do just fine in that small space. Cover the window above it and voila. I dont know if its ideal or not but I just did it on a larger scale and it worked just fine. I also have pictures of the grow to prove it if you like.

I did it just fine without fresh air this last grow I just finished.. Not sure if I was just lucky but everything came out great, still 3 left to harvest. No fresh air from start to finish and no added co2 other than opening my door to go in. Not sure if its ideal or not but I had to do it this way and it worked out great.
