Oh, those are very bad news. By the time you see them crawling on the surface or on the pots, you probably have a bad infestation, and they can be almost impossible to get rid of. When I had these a few years ago, I had to shut down for 3 months, disinfect EVERYTHING with bleach, and start over from scratch. I once had an infestation that I caught early, and knocked that out with Bayer Tree and Shrub, but I think I got lucky.

Good luck. You've got a fight on your hands.

One thing you might try is soaking the medium with a 1% peroxide solution once a week. That won't eliminate them, but it probably will keep them under control in your roots until harvest time. Then, you launch D Day and declare total war.

What is your growing medium, by the way?

What. The. Fuck.

That's what I get for staying up all night. In fact, "coco" was the key word that made me open the thread in the first place.

I'm going to have some breakfast and get a couple of hours of sleep...:dunce:

I’ve been seeing a few of these crawl around the brim of my pots, anyone know what this is? Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Don’t freak out with all this talk of root aphids.

They are most Definately not root aphids.

I’ve never had root aphids and pray I never do but I understand what they look like, root aphids have a more pointed look to them.

These in fact could be quite the opposite.

To me they look like hypoaspis miles.

Beneficial predators.
