Hi all, first time poster, Props+Reps. to everyone that posts on this site. Great help and info from all.

I've grown a few times outside over the years, not an expert so I need help.

This past spring I found some old seeds I put away along time ago, so I don't know the strain. They sprouted in the second week of May, and started flowering end of August. I got 4 females out of 5 seeds, they grown to about chest height in full sun in 5 gal pots. The male was removed in time so no seed production.
Floranova grow and bloom, Floralicious and monster bloom were the ferts I used.
The plants have been on water only for the last 10 days, before this they had all white hairs with crystals on buds and the smaller leaves and a nice strong aroma, (sorry no earlier photos of Plants) the buds where still needed to fill in more.

What I noticed is more leaf growth from the buds and the smell not as strong, and the crystals are almost gone, and only about 5% of the hairs just started turning amber. WTF is happening, I don't want smoke a salad. So heres my Questions

1. Did I do something wrong, or neglect to do something?

2. Maybe the strain?

3. Did I let them grow too long, is the bud in decline?

4. Or em I just freaked out by nothing, because they look healthy and strong.

Please Help, all comments and criticism
appreciated.

patience relying on this grow, this is my first time for inside growing, and I don't want what happened to the outside plants, happening on the inside.

Heres some photos of the inside. Strain= Master Kush

looks fine to me. more leaves just mean more photosynthesis and more energy for resin/buds and a little more trimming at the end. which brings me to point 2 dont worry about smoking salad, your going to trim all those leaves off before you even dry the buds. i do at least. looking good, keep it up

Hi Whiterino and Erysicthon,

Thank you for your quick responses. I guess I should have been alittle more detailed or titled the thread as ( Unusual growth spurt in bud leaf).

I'm use to seeing this much leaf growth earlier in the flower stage. and as the buds grows you see more growth of the bud materiel and less leaf or just those single bud leafs, which are shorter and not as beefy Veg leaf.

Last week went out to look and they had this unusual leaf growth spurt. more leaf visible than hairs, and just seemed different then my other grows.

Now that they have been off nutes for 10 days, should I put them back on nutes and let them go longer or just keep the on water only and harvest them into 2-3 weeks?

Thanks

i would keep up with the nutes for at least another week. depending on how long you have before the cold/frost starts to threaten it. looks like it could go at least 3 more weeks to me. how are your trichs looking?

I generally agree, you get more light/photosynthesis with more leaves. As long as the leaves, get light, and are not necrotic(dead) leave them alone.

You can trim off the leaves once the buds are ready. After the cleansing process, as part of your first big trim, cut them all off at the stalk, and trim all your water leaves off, then hang up side down. Thats how the rest of the pot smoking world usually does it.

As a side note, I would be worried if you didn't have leaves. Thats how plants work! The pictures look perfectly healthy to me.

On the note of nutrients, you should be giving them nutes constantly until you get to the cleansing stage of the run(unless if you get root rot, nutrient lock up, or have an overabundance of one individual nute. Why did you take them off nutes for 10 days if you were not ready to cut?
