So I bought a couple of seeds on a whim and after 6 days they are still alive! I just made it up as I went along, with random compost etc, but I have been enjoying geeking out so want to try and do things properly. So any advice on what to change and upgrade appreciated.
1. I need to know if I should swap out the soil and pots or just ride it through. The compost I use was from UK Homebase, it is called gro-sure seed and cutting compost. It doesn't have any further details. Should I swap?
2. One of the starter leaves on the left plant started out damaged. Anything I can do to repair or supplement?
3. The pots are fairly large, about 10cm in diameter. Worth swapping for a smaller pot?
4. I'm not PHing the water or anything. But tap water round here in Scotland tastes really nice and clean, do I need to buy kits? Boil water? I can get distilled from work...
5. I'm growing in a closet to trap light and heat, it's about 22C, but lower humidity, 45%. But I have access to spare bathroom with a cubiblces and extractor fan, where I could the humidity higher, but it would be slightly cooler at 18% but I could get the humidity higher more easily. Would this be a better grow room?
6. I'm mixing light spectrum and have fairly weak Watts. I have 4 20W CFL in total, 2x 6500k, 2 x 2400k hanging a bout 2 inches from the pots. They are 20W bulbs so equivilent to 90W so 4x90 is how I am thinking about it!
7. I have some random feeds in the garage, are any of them any use for veg or seedling stage?
