Plants wilting after water, please help.

Hello, i have 4 strawberry og fems going. They have been vegging for just over 6 weeks now. I topped them when they were at 5/6 nodes so they got a nice start but its not going too well.

Ive had some problems with overwatering already and i think the soil hasnt got good drainage even though it said so.

So ive been waiting for them to wilt slightly and dry right up before water, its ending up being 3-4 days between waterings. I havent fed them anything yet because i repotted them in fresh soil and much bigger pots around week 3 or 4.

Two of them seem fine, but another two dont look good. They were watered at the same time and two of them reacted really badly.

The third pic is one of the two that look alright.

So what do i do? I have no idea at this point, i let these plants dry out fully and then i watered. Everything is fine with ph and this is actually my third grow. Ive never had these problems but this is the first time ive used this soil.

Please help.

Thank you.

This can happen when you use soil only (no perlite) and drench it leaving fuck all air to the roots, re-pot soon and mix in 30-40% perlite. Other than the droop they look good.

Ok thanks man. The only thing i was thinking about repotting was that the same soil will still be there inside the well drained soil..meaning the well drained soil will dry up sooner fooling me into thinking it needs water...even though the old soild inside is still damp.

Could this be an issue?

The 1st two look different than the 3rd one .... I always say that's a sign. Make sure they don't stay too wet, they can handle a little dry if you keep a close eye out. I let them dry out till they droop a little than water till water pours out the bottom with good drainage don't let them sit in water for more than 2 or so hours. Over watering is the most common problem. They look healthy other wise. You have a good eye because those are the very early signs.

My plants always droop a little right after I water...just means they have had enough water...leaves droop down to let excess water glide off their leaves...and they curl up when they are thirsty to try to catch the water....so...normal...looks good to me...just don't water before the pot is light...

picture #2 had a little dirt on the lower leaves, you could trim those or rinse them off, there are usually spider mites and pest eggs in the dirt so don't get dirt on the leaves transplanting if possible

is it really necessary to water so much it drains 20% out...to me that is just way too much water, I get it that you want no "DRY" spots...but this one activity...soak the F#$%ers has caused so many growers issues on this site.

The "Stick your finger in it method" also is a bunch of whoie. In a dry environment your top layer of soil will be dry and the bottom could be still moist. Buckets or plastic posts do not dry out uniformly. This is why Air pots or Fabric pots are superior for us hobby growers.
