My friend has a spider mite problem. He bought a bottle of ortho Elementals Insecticidal soap "supposedly" it will not affect marijuana plants. Is this a bad idea? The plants are about 18 inches tall. I told him to hold off until I check around. I don't like to use anything that kills anything... help us out......

thanks

insecticial soaps will work to kill the adult mite...they do little... if nothing to kill the 100 of eggs that hatch every 2-3 days...1 adult mite lays 100s of eggs

repeat applications every 2-3 days for a 7-10 day period is advised

Forget soaps, neem, and all that other shit. Get some No Pest Strips and put them in there. In a couple days, mites will be gone. Worked for me. Just take them out a couple weeks before harvest. I use 2 strips in a 4x2 foot closet. It's probably overkill, but better safe than sorry.

I put my strips below the level of the pots so that the exhaust sucks the air through the strips and up through the leaves. Seems to work best that way. Keep ventilation to a minimum if you can, and if you can't, just make sure the room that the cab/tent/closet is in is sealed. IOW, you want to keep as much of the poison floating around as possible.
