Planting clones

hi all,

Im new to growing. I have happy frog and ocean forrest soil with gai green nutes.

Im receiving my clones this weekend I got 1 gallon pots, 5 and 10 pots

I plan on moving the clones into the 1 gallon pots in the happy frog for the first 2-3 weeks then moving to the 5 gallon pots with the ocean farm and moving to the 10s with ocean from there.

Is 2-3 weeks suitable for the first bit in the 1 gallons or should I wait longer to move to the ocean farm in 5 gallons? Also when should I move to 10 gallons from the 5s or could I just skip the 5 gallon and move from the 1 gallons to 10 ?

Thanks

Assuming the clones are on the small side and as yet un-topped, they should be ok in the 1g for at least three weeks or even longer. Wait until roots reach the edge of the container so the root-ball comes out in one mass before going to next size up. Do yourself a favor in the meantime and get some granular mycorrhizae; sprinkle it in the hole at every transplant. Place the root ball in contact with it; don’t need much either. Helps with absorption and keeps your plants very healthy.

You can go right into the 10g pots and veg for awhile or even flower plants in 5g. It really depends upon how long you want to veg and/or have space available for bigger plants. Bigger plants can obviously yield more but over-crowding can diminish a potential harvest. Get your plants into their final size pots maybe a week or so before you flip them to bloom phase. Let just let it ride...

I agree with everything except moving them into final pots a week before flower. I try to get them in their final pots as soon as possible so the roots have time to spread out. I've transplanted right at flip and my plants don't get nearly as big when I do that.

I actually have to do that to a plant now since I didn't have room for the 15 gal pots in my veg tent so I had to plant a couple in 3 gal pots. And now I have another space in my flower room, so it's just about when I get motivated to transplant.

It’s not easy to sort of gauge how much bigger they will get in bloom phase as there are several variables at play including available space. Been running perpetual for awhile now and can tell you that timing your grow and using space to max potential is a constant challenge. It only gets worse the more you have going....
